Book Review: My Body, My Rules by Nicki Esler Gill & Dasha Riley

I love an empowering, informative message portrayed through picture books for young children. It doesn't need to be heavy or too deep but it's great to see good values and behaviours demonstrated through the joy of reading.

Today, I am reviewing My Body, My Rules - a picture book that aims to introduce younger readers to body boundaries and consent in a lighter manner.

Author Spotlight: Carlie Sorosiak

I've decided to start another new series on my blog called "Author Spotlight". I don't know how often I will do these posts as I don't want to set myself a time frame and force it. I'd rather write when I genuinely have a selection of books by a particular author to talk about.

This post will be all about the wonderful Carlie Sorosiak...

Book Review: The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh by Helen Rutter

I'm so excited to be bringing you this early review of The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh by Helen Rutter.

I was very kindly gifted this book by Scholastic in exchange for a review, but I would like to say that all thoughts shared on this book are my own and have not been influenced in any way. I will always be honest in my reviews.

So, read on to find out what I thought of The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh...

Book Review: You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson

Hi everyone!

This book review was supposed to go up weeks ago but I suppose I'll try to use the line "better late than never" here.

I was very excited about the release of this book so I'm sure you can imagine how much that multiplied when I was offered an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review (I'm just sorry that the review wasn't quite as advanced but thank you to Scholastic for sending it to me!)

Blog Tour: Boy Queen by George Lester | Author Guest Post & My Review

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to be part of the Boy Queen blog tour and today it's my turn. I am so honoured to have a guest post from the author, George Lester, talking about some of his favourite characters.

I then have a review of the book when I'll tell you a little bit about what I thought of it!

First, here is the synopsis:

Robin Cooper's life is falling apart.

While his friends prepare to head off to University, Robin is looking at a pile of rejection letters from drama schools up and down the country, and facing a future without the people he loves the most. Everything seems like it's ending, and Robin is scrabbling to find his feet.

Unsure about what to do next and whether he has the talent to follow his dreams, he and his best friends go and drown their sorrows at a local drag show, where Robin realises there might be a different, more sequinned path for him . . .

With a mother who won't stop talking, a boyfriend who won't acknowledge him and a best friend who is dying to cover him in glitter make up, there's only one thing for Robin to do: bring it to the runway.

Read on for George Lester's guest post and my review of Boy Queen...

The Wrong Side of Kai Blog Tour: Writing Q&A with Estelle Maskame

I have been a huge fan of Estelle Maskame's writing since the very first page I read. It's always captivating and hard to put down. I've found this with every book, from the Did I Mention I Love You? series to her first stand-alone novel, Dare To Fall.

Estelle Maskame is back with her new book, The Wrong Side of Kai, which I have been desperate to read since the day it was announced. I am so thrilled to be involved with the blog tour, so thank you Ink Road for asking me to be a part of it.

As a fan of her writing, I decided to ask Estelle some questions about her writing, from the way she creates her story to where she likes to write.

So, here is my writing Q&A with author Estelle Maskame...

Book Review: Wilde About The Girl by Louise Pentland

I'm back with another book review and I am very excited for this one!

As you may know, I love Louise Pentland, as a YouTuber, as a weekly vlogger, as a general human being. I think she's brilliant. I also love Louise for her writing. Last year I read Louise's debut novel, Wilde Like Me, and I fell in love with her writing, her wit and her characters. So, you can imagine how excited I was to read the sequel, Wilde About the Girl, a year later.

Why I Needed Just Don't Mention It | JDMI Blog Tour

I am beyond excited to be a part of the Just Don’t Mention It blog tour.
I read the entire Did I Mention I Love You? Series (also known as the DIMILY series) last year, as well as Estelle’s first stand-alone book, Dare to Fall. I loved all of them, so as soon as I saw that she was writing a companion novel to go with the DIMILY series, from Tyler’s point of view, I knew I had to have it!

The Inspiration Behind How To Write A Love Story (How To Write A Love Story Blog Tour)

I'm so excited to be a part of the How To Write A Love Story Blog Tour. I was a huge fan of Katy Cannon's book And Then We Ran, which I read last year, so I couldn't wait to read this latest book.

I also couldn't wait to host a blog post, written by Katy, for this book blog tour.

So, read on to find out what inspired Katy to write this brilliant story...

Author Interview: Lucie Wheeler (Mums Just Wanna Have Fun Blog Tour)

Hi all, I'm back after having a bit of a break from blogging (I have plans, I promise I'm not slacking!) and today it's my turn on the Mums Just Wanna Have Fun blog tour with author Lucie Wheeler.

I first met Lucie in September last year when me and my friend, Jess, decided to attend the launch event for Lucie's debut novel. We'd never met before then, but Lucie, Jess and I instantly clicked over our similar career paths and love of books.

After the launch, we kept in touch and we actually attended a book event together in November.

So when the opportunity came for me to be a part of the blog tour for Lucie's new book, Mums Just Wanna Have Fun, I jumped at the chance to support such a lovely, enthusiastic, talented woman.

I had the chance to ask Lucie some questions, not just about writing but about reading too. So, here are the quick-fire questions I asked Lucie...

Spoiler-Free Book Review: Hold Back The Stars by Katie Khan

For my latest YouTube video I did a spoiler-free review of Katie Khan's debut novel Hold Back The Stars, which you can watch below:

Buy it here: Hold Back The Stars by Katie Khan

In my video I give a brief summary of the book, talk about the characters and the plot and give my honest thoughts on the book as a whole.

My favourite part to film in my book review video was the section I'm calling "If it was made into a movie". I love films as well as reading books so I enjoy thinking about who I would cast as the main characters if it was ever made into a film.

Katie Kahn actually watched the video and sent me a lovely message through Twitter:
