Blog Tour: All I Want for Christmas by Beth Garrod | Author Guest Post and Review

Hi,

I'm very excited to be on this very special Christmas blog tour today. I can't wait to share All I Want for Christmas by Beth Garrod with you all. I'm also lucky enough to be sharing a guest post from the author on this blog post too, where Beth Garrod will be sharing a Christmas song from the playlist of one of the characters.

So, grab a hot chocolate and a blanket (unless you're somewhere hot or you've chosen to read this in the middle of summer instead, in which case don't do that) and read on for my review and the guest post...

First, before my review, here is the synopsis for All I Want for Christmas:

Elle is a social media star with the #DreamLife... or so it seems. Determined to shake up her content and find new followers, she's on a mission; can she find a British fan to swap with for Christmas?

Holly loves everything about Christmas. But after a mortifying mistletoe disaster with her ex, her perfect plans unravel like a bad novelty jumper. Can Holly save the holidays by switching lives with her favourite Stateside influencer?

Far from home, will they both find all they want for Christmas?

In quick summary: I loved this book. It was my first Christmas read of the season and I couldn't have hoped for a better book to start feeling festive with.

The characters were definitely my favourite part of the whole story. I loved reading all about Elle and Holly. They were both such engaging and interesting characters. Usually, when I read a book with chapters which alternate between the perspectives of two different characters, I'll have a favourite. However, with this book, I honestly couldn't say whose storyline I enjoyed more. There was no point where I wasn't interested in reading what was going on with both Elle and Holly.

The whole story had me feeling festive and cosy. It was the perfect book to take me into December and get me ready for Christmas. It was such a nice, easy read which is so good when the world is so crazy right now. It really was a perfect escape to be able to read something like this.

I'd definitely recommend this book, it's such a fun Christmas read and it is now in my top ten Christmas books of all time!

Now, read on for Beth Garrod's guest post...

It’s day four of The All I Want For Christmas blog tour, and it’s time to share the next instalment of Holly’s playlist. Today the choice is from a song that features in one of my favourite parts of the book as it’s set in one of my ultimate festive places – New York. Obviously, nothing beats London (as Elle soon realises!) but walking around a snowy New York with Christmas songs playing always felt like I’d been catapulted straight into the Christmas films I loved. But even with amazing views, Christmas lights and feeling like you’re in a film set, nothing ever feels as special as seeing friends and family for the holidays – which is exactly what today’s pick is all about…

Chris Rea – Driving Home For Christmas
This is one that Holly and Elle’s brother Nick can agree on. Not only is this song a true Christmas classic, but this is Holly’s mum’s favourite – and there’s nothing happier than seeing a parent dancing around the kitchen (maybe/probably fuelled by mulled wine) doing the Christmas two-step to one of their faves from the past. And listening to this song hits even harder when you’ve got a journey back to see loved ones – and after swapping lives, both Holly and Elle have a more than just a drive home for Christmas. They also have a trans-Atlantic flight, a trip through airport security (complete with emergency Toblerone purchase, even though they are very hard to wrap) and some very big goodbyes to say (but that’s way too long for a title of a song).

Thank you for stopping by on my blog tour stop! Don't forget to check out the other stops on the tour too:

And you can also order the book here!

Happy reading and, if I don't get the chance to write on here before December 25th, Merry Christmas to you all!

  2. It is truly a well-researched Christmas and excellent wording. I got so engaged in this material that I couldn’t wait reading.
